USA Govt Implicitly Values Bitcoin Highly

Does the govt auction off drugs or ivory when they are seized? No. Then why they are auctioning off bitcoins that were seized? This implies the precious value they realise exists in bitcoin. And they want to profit from it. Goodness or good?
