I'm hopeful you're right... one of the weaknesses of most alt coins is that you can't really "do" anything with them other than invest in them and trade them on the markets. Now, if you can actually use Steem to buy... a pair of shoes, or web site design services, or classic comic books... then we enter a whole new era of economic utility; functionality that pretty much is (currently) limited to Bitcoin.
