Atomic wallet - first impressions
OK, so I just slapped this one onto my Linux box and if the internals are as well done as the interface looks, this is a total winner!
In the wallet, you can:
- Do direct atomic swaps between BTC, LTC and QTUM(!!!)
- Easily buy crypto directly with your VISA card
- Effortlessly exchange directly between the most popular cryptos using Changelly or Shapeshift.
The wallet has a very eye-pleasing dark themed interface and is super-intuitive to use, making the newbie fear of potentially costly crypto handling mistakes quickly vaporize. You'll be able to manage your portfolio with the confidence of a ninja in no-time!
You can also sign up for the airdrop and still make it in time. It started on the 1st of November. If you use the code of: SXW1V when doing so from the "Airdrop" entry in the menu, you get an extra 25 AWC tokens on top of the normal 50.
I think we all realize now - at least those of us who follow this space closely - that atomic swaps is the future and the team behind this wallet aims for a future leading position on exactly that.
Note: I have not yet tried to "emergency-recreate" the wallet using my wallet seed to test out this feature. I will do so, when I get the time and deliver a comment on how that went. Meanwhile, just dive in! It's a really pleasant user experience so far.
Linux installation instructions (Ubuntu, debian and Fedora)
Download the wallet AppImage file and drop it in a dir you create in your personal home folder and name "atomic".
Open a shell and run the command below, using your own home folder name instead of the "[ ]" tag:
cd /home/["your personal home folder"]/atomic; chmod a+x atomicwallet.AppImage; ./atomicwallet.AppImage
First time, it will run in the shell, but will insert itself in your launch menu for more convenient future launching.
