It Is Possible - In Case You Need Motivation
Life is never easy, no matter how it looks. There's a saying, actually there are lots of sayings but right now I'm going to quote one that says all.
Where there's a will there's a way.
Sounds like a cliche but it's true and the sooner you realize that, the better for you. Also some people are looking for solutions, others for excuses. This is also true. It depends on you what you want and which one you choose.
If you ask me, I don't like motivational quotes and speeches, and I like a lot less people who are always throwing these quotes and speeches into your face. These two sayings or quotes are just to introduce the topic I'm going to write about today.
When I started my running training journey I needed a lot of motivation to build up enough strength to be able to overcome difficulties. I've started out with a huge handicap that I don't like to talk about but still wanted to do it. Not knowing anything about running, I needed as much professional support and guidance as I could get to do it right and avoid injuries.
I got into a very cool running group and got a lot of help which I was very grateful for. Also met a lot of wonderful people who were ready to help and support whoever needed. This is exactly what a newbie needs in order to start a journey right.
Among these wonderful people there were professional runners, army people and ordinary people who were running just for fun and for their health. And there was a guy who were running marathons with his friend who was blind. Blind! He could not see a thing and he was running marathons, can you believe me? I was shocked as i didn't know any cases before and of course I had a great admiration for both of them. How can you not? This is exceptional, out of the ordinary as people think if you can't see, you can't run. Well, you can!
They were training together each time. The technique they were using was very simple. They had a stripe that tied them together by hand and that was a guidance for the blind guy.
Cases like this and similar ones are my motivation. I believe these exceptional people can show you a very good example and can motivate everyone way better than a quote written on a post-it note.
Yesterday I saw a similar case in the news that made me remember this guy. His name is Jason Smyth, he's a 32 year old Irish sprint runner and he's legally blind. His central vision is affected by Stargardt's disease.
He has an impressive career and he's not done yet, he's planning to continue.

I'm really impressed and hoping to hear more from him. It's a great example and a source of motivation for all of us (it should be).
So if you are thinking of skipping your training today, think twice 😀
