The mistery of Ata, the Atacama Alien
Introduction:
Ata is a mummified humanoid found in a abandoned city in the Atacama desert, one of the driest place on earth.
Ata appear to be a 15 cm (6-inch) tall humanoid with many weird characteristics as the skull and bones conformation. More, Ata have 10 ribs instead of 12 as usually other humans have, 4 less vertebrae and some bones look like those from a 6-8 years old child. Its appearance, the physiologic clues and the mysterious environment where it was discovered lead to the conclusion it is an ancient mummified alien.
The analyses:
This very interesting case drawn attention of Garry Nolan, a Ph.D. immunologist which asked for the mummy in order to execute some scientific and medical analyses. The humanoid body were subjected to X-rays analysis and to DNA analysis. In fact the extremely dry climatic conditions have ease the conservation of the small humanoid body and its genetic material. In 2013 Nolan extracted the DNA from bone marrow and his analyses revealed the humanoid mummy did not belong to a alien but it is a small female fetus died between 500 years ago and 50 years ago.... yes in the sixties. In fact, its, or her, DNA shows genetic markers both derived from south Americans and markers typical of European people which arrived in the new continent only at the end of the 17th century. Nolan in his analysis found 54 mutations associated with the development and regulation of the bones and skeletal system. These mutations were never documented before but they can surely explain the anomalies found in the little body. In a more recent research published on Genome Research on March 30th (https://genome.cshlp.org/content/early/2018/03/21/gr.223693.117), Nolan shown by whole sequencing of Ata's DNA what he assessed in 2013, Ata was 100% a female human fetus probably affected by skeletal dysplasia.
Conclusions:
So guys, before think that something is obvious, before think they found the final clue, try to deepen your knowledge with all kind of sources, different points of views and mainly with a skeptical behavior. Nothing is proved before there are not definitive and scientific clues, even when the pics and the story is so mysterious and suggestive. Otherwise we would go back to medieval age where only the opinions and impressions matters to judge a story and not the indisputable facts.
