You paint a pretty picture with your whimsical description of life in the Australian bush. Unfortunately, Kookaburra calls are not what I now hear, just traffic, dogs barking and people. I need to get back into the country! Not want, need. I guess that is why I go fishing so often...
I’d much rather wake up to the sound of kookaburras than traffic, dogs and people too, but at least I have my beautiful sea view with Moreton Island in the distance. We house sat a while back on a 40 acre property where we fed wallabies daily and enjoyed visits from a fabulous variety of native birds. Such as, cockatoos, black and white, king parrots, bronzed winged pigeons etc. The peace and tranquility of the place was heavenly.
