Trend: Normalizing sexual mental illness?

A funny thing happened to me and my girlfriend the other day while sitting in a rather local obscure eatery local to our area. A young mom and her two daughters were having a rather heated exchange, and as I was attempting to smother my omelette with the sub-par canned sausage gravy I tuned my attention towards them because I've clearly got nothing better to do, else I'd have to listen to my girlfriend go on about some bullshit that went on with one of her friends and their boyfriend.

The girls were attempting to explain to their mother that being a homosexual wasn't a choice and it was natural. You wouldn't think this was anything strange, young kids educating their far over the hill parent on the new world concepts, except that isn't where their line of logic stopped. Mom responded with "I understand that, but pedophiles are born pedophiles too and just because they're born that way doesn't make what they do okay." and proceeded to drown her coffee with sugar.

All of this makes perfect sense, right? Well I was shocked with the follow-up rebuttal.

"No it doesn't matter, everyone was made the way they are and we have to accept them and understand them." one of the girls chimed, with the other nodding.

Mom was swift to shut them both down with a change of subject and they moved on to something less spectacle for public viewing. So I'm sitting there now meeting eyes with my ole lady, who clearly just heard the same conversation I did and there was this moment of realization that these are the same generation of kids right now eating tide pods and committing suicide over Facebook bullying. It was a quick shake of our heads and it was back to my microwaved egg breakfast.

I'm part of the generation we call the MTV generation. We're that sliver just before the millennials popped in. (We feel neither highs nor lows if you recall.) I find more often than not this new wave of SJW and socialist thinking comes more from my peers to my surprise, and it's infected the youth of today as well. When I was a kid it was simply homosexuals who were unusual and being persecuted, but today it appears youth have become sympathetic to all sexual orientations and backgrounds regardless of the content of them. Feminists support the middle-eastern oppression of Sharia Law, it's okay for grown men to watch cartoons aimed for little girls and sexually fetish cartoon ponys, and now apparently children are sympathizing with pedophiles.

At what point do we as a nation draw a line in the sand again? What mental illness are we going to mainstream next? Are we going to have an award show specifically for pedophiles, homosexuals, and those who identify as big bird? Maybe Alyssa Milano can host it.

I know for certain in the next 100 years we're going to have a book defining this period of time titled "What the hell was that shit about?".
