The subject I Like Best (1)

We have to study five subjects at school. I am interested in all of them. But the subject I like best is English. Our English teacher is Mrs. Po Po. She teaches us very well. She makes even the dullest lessons wery interesting for us. It is always a pleasure to study under her. She has taught us since we were in the ninth. So she knows us inside out. She knows the strong points as well as the weak points of all her pupils.

We are taught English five period a week. Mrs, Po Po reads out the text and makes us repeat after her. Then she explains the essential points to us very clearly. She also teaches us the rules of grammar and gives us plenty of exercises to do. She advises us to write short, simple sentences. She also urges us to read English books, novels, magazines and newspapers as much as we can. She says that we should pay that we should pay special attention to idioms as English is an idiomatic language.
