I want you to be aware that there's a G+ algorithm that weeds out posts This happens when people post too often. The algo throws them into the spam folder.
I don't have any control whatsoever over this algorithm.
It takes me hours to go through that folder and take stuff out of there that was unfairly weeded out. Many are truly spam while others are not.
So I would say, post, and wait at least 24 hours between each post of yours in order to not risk it falling into the spam folder.
If you're posting the same post in a short period of time into too many communities, I've found out that it weeds you out. So space out (time-wise) the sharing of the same post into several communities: don't do it at once.
If for some reason your post falls into the spam folder unfairly, please tag me in any comment section and let me know right away so that I may find it and fetch it out. If you wait too long before tagging me it will be very hard to find that post since there are literally thousands of posts held in there. I have hand picked moderators to help me with the process of moderating this community but life isn't perfect and unfortunately there are things beyond our control ( like this algorithm for example).
Please do not blame me for your post falling in the spam folder unfairly. I am not God. Thank you.
Please do not upload images that you do not have the rights to use. It's always a good idea to attribute the artist with a name and a link IF you know their name and website (or a social media platform that they are on). If you don't know this information, you can right click on the original image and select "Search Google for this image" or simply upload the artwork to Google's image search so that you may do a little research and be able to give credit where credit is due.
I know that even after searching, you may not discover the artist's name and website and that's okay. This is just a suggestion- not a rule. I love it when people are also able to give dates because anything before 1923 is public domain and this is great to know.
Please don't post erotic or nude images here. Especially do not post porn. Those who post porn will be banned. We want to keep this family friendly. Thanks!
This community is focused on paintings, drawings, and sketches: not photography, sculptures, crafts, or music. Although we love these other forms of art, it would dilute the intention of the community to allow all forms of art; so please stick to only posting the types that I'm listing here.
Digital and Mixed Media Art are also allowed. Mixed media is many forms of paint and even pieces of newspaper but all come together to form a painting. Here's an example of a mixed media art piece https://www.pinterest.com/pin/31666003607808094/.
If you want to post photos of paintings, drawings, sketches, mixed media and digital art, feel free. Please don't post photos of yourself or anyone else unless it's next to your painting, drawing, sketch, digital or mixed media art.
Also it is not permitted to post promotion of other communities on Google Plus.
Spammers trying to sell their "apps" or "sunglasses", (or any unrelated to the topic) products such as furniture, perfume, diet shakes, etc. will be banned.
Those who are constantly posting off topic videos (such as violent crimes, IT tutorials, photos of political figures, etc.) will also be banned.
Don’t post images of t-shirts, mugs, or other objects similar to these with your art. Simply post the artwork or picture of the artwork then link to your merchandise or website in the description if you want.
There are over 500,000 members in this group and I simply do not have time to educate everyone that joins not to be posting obviously off-topic things. This post is my attempt to diminish the amount of spam I have to go through and let people know what's ok and what's not.
Do not promote services such as a graphic designer, social media services, etc and do not link to fiverr - this will get you banned.
Posts with videos and images completely unrelated to art and links to apps will get you banned.
Please do not use shortened URLS since a lot of people have shortened URLs that go to malware. A shortened url will not get you banned unless coupled with something else that is bannable. We want to prevent anyone from getting hurt so just don’t post them – thanks!
Make sure that the image is not a small size so that everyone can easily visualize it. Tiny images dilute the beauty of the community and will be deleted.
The only posts with no images that won't be deleted are those asking for help or advice or those in which someone is introducing themselves or a friend to the community.This is a visually driven community and posts with no images and just a link or posts with just one word like "hi" are a waste of space and energy. "Ain't nobody got time for that" LOL =)
Now onto the good stuff:
I’m crazy passionate about art. Just the mere act of looking at it can be healing, inspiring and joyful. Creating art has really helped me grow internally and even heal emotionally. I wanted to create a place where we could all share and be inspired.
Even if you don’t create any form of art, but love to contemplate it, then this place is for you.
