Contemporary Weaving In Ghana
Today is what I share with you another incredible artwork of Ghana.A very long existed occupation of most people here in Africa and beyond.It still is one of the oldest occupation here in Ghana and Africa..
It is nothing but basketry and weaving. This has fed many people since it is taken as a major employment which their lives depend on.These baskets you see above are made by some young talented Ghanaians who have taken this as their main job which their lives depend on..They turn canes into beautiful furniture such as these baskets you see..One good thing I have loved about this is its durability. They are relatively cheaper as well and serves many domestic purposes.The beauty of these work when I found along the road got my attention which made me took these photos to share with you Today
Almost every tribe and family here in Ghana have a particular group of people among them who do these with just the canes.They look so pretty and easy to carry as well.
Come let us admire the true beauty of African artwork.The new weaving method that meets international standard. I think this can easily be used by anyone and transported to any part of the world.This is Africa and this is Ghana..Thank you for passing by.

Cane baskets are very durable and lighter compared to our normal wooden furniture. It's a nice piece. Thanks for sharing.
