This is a special post for the 10th ARTstyleART Challenge - I was excited to see the announcement about a Village Life theme, since the majority of my paintings and drawings center around an traditional Indonesian lifestyle - its people, its culture, the markets and village life etc.
However, my personal visual interpretation of the world and my surroundings is a bit different and may not fit the prescribed realistic style (I work more naive with a bold color palette)
Either way, I would like to share this work with the community. It is an original painting from February 2017 (presented as apartial image in low resolution) - The Morning Preparation At A Traditional Indonesian Market - Acrylic on canvas (50 cm x 70 cm).

These are my favorite places here at home in Indonesia - the fruit and vegetable markets, the flower markets and the nearby harbors with the fish markets. I could walk around for hours and watch the noisy activities and the colorful people...

The painting has now been sold to my German friends Rudi and Oranna. They own Casita, an Asian Arts and Crafts store in Trier, Germany (Neustrasse).
Unbelievable. I have just come back from 3 weeks in Indonesia. I see this picture and I think, "Wow, this market looks Indonesian!" Seems it was your intention. Marvellous job, keep at it.

Seems we have missed each other by a very small degree! I landed in Jakarta, then spent several days each (with 36 students of Global Exploration) in Bogor, Ciwidey, Bandung, Tangerang and Yogyakarta. It was an extraordinary experience. Did you happen to see a large group of European students in a dark green shirt? :P
Hahaha, 17 Million people in and around Jakarta .... our bio farm is actually in the hills north of Bogor ... Gunung Salak. Indonesia is beautiful .... so happy that you had a great time. You are back in Europe now? I am going to Germany again soon ....

Ciwidey ... Bandung area - cool. Love the tea plantations - close to Puncak Pass. My husband is in Trier, close to the border of Luxembourg ... not far to the Netherlands. I played North Sea Festival in Utrecht ... https://www.reverbnation.com/yuccarose
Yup, we were at the tea plantations as well. Gorgeous area. Only pity is, seems the British have bought up all sales rights, so we couldn't buy any tea! Trier, yes, I've been there twice. Beautiful city, much history. Hmm let's check out your link!
