Artificial Intelligence Turns $20 Into $11,000 - Should You Be Scared?
A.I technology is going to change your life and this Collective Intelligence Platform is a world's first and a prime example on how it could assist you.
There are some amazing platforms being developed at the moment in relation to A.I technology and a little while back this one took my eye... So, let me introduce you to UNU. That's UNU working it's magic above
UNU is like an online community much like Steemit, where it uses community engagement to provided answers and to predict outcomes...in other words collecting the intelligence of many minds on a particular question.
There is that old saying, two brains are better the one...well it is in fact true.
This year the UNU platform not only successfully chose the winner, but the second, third and fourth horses to finish the Kentucky Derby, in its correct order! How incredible is that...but this is just the beginning..
You can also read here how it picked the NBA Finals
If it can do this...imagine what else is possible!

Nice, but this isn't really AI. It's mechanical turk as sports bookie.
You see UNU isn't a platform that learns, it's a just a polling platform exactly like we've had for literally centuries. Your local sports book does something extremely similar under the hood, but what they use is the amount bet as a weighting mechanism on odds.
Humans voting on a thing is not AI not even close, even if there is an algorithm that weights it's decisions based on the correctness of previous human predictions.
For it to be AI, it would need humans to train it first and then let it go off on it's own and begin synthesizing data into answers without direct human guidance. That's not even a goal here.
The other question is how would you monetize something like that even if they did decide to train it up and let it run on it's own?
I don't see any sort of compensation scheme. Without compensation and also some way of clawing back compensation for tampering, you end up with this sort of cock up, which frankly does scare the hell out of me.

Forsure completely agree on a number of things, I think what the platform does aside from being very cleverly branded is that it brings AI into focus a little more.
I'm going to follow up with some more AI posts which are more of what you speak. But, I thought I'd get the conversation going with this one as it is very relatable. :)
More to come @williambanks - thanks for the comment and the share! Love it.
Oh on the monetization question, thats a tricky one as it does require the collective intelligence to be active to be really powerful. One thing I think which shows the flaw is if you go on there and have a play around there isn't enough people. The idea of Swam Intelligence could be cool integrated into other platforms where users are active and do exists, maybe even by doing a delay in the swarm that could create more accuracy. Too true re the polling point.
UNU isn't AI at all. It's a "Hive-Mind" platform. As williambanks pointed out is basically a polling platform with the exception that users have to make quick intuitive decisions based on an evolving situation. It's these quick intuitive value judgments that seem to give UNU it's power. But I've mostly seen stupid things come from UNU because users get bored with it so quickly.
That moment when the software asks it's self, "what am I doing?, what is this?, what am I?"....
