ART EXPLOSION WEEK 51: Theme PARANORMAL

in #artexplosion6 years ago (edited)

Hello again after a looong, long time
As part of my break from the tasks necessary to finish my university studies, I have decided to make an entry for the 51st edition of Art Explosion, a contest in which it is always a pleasure to participate, although I can not do it as often as I would like.
(If you want to take a look at the other participants, look here.)

I tried to pick up the concept by going to some symbols associated with paranormal activity, such as the goat (from a very dark imaginary) and the snake (magic and cyclical time). There are also aspects of my drawing that I can not explain, because they are part of those mysterious things in art.
Next, I explain the process a bit.

Before remembering that I should take pictures of the process I started drawing so I do not have a picture of the raw sketch. The first thing was, of course, to decide the composition of the image and then look for references (I had to see many pictures of cute boys, what a nightmare!). Once the drawing was ready I started to work with watercolor, not only because I like it, but because when you are not sure of the colors you are going to use (like me in this case) you can cover the watercolor with colors and / or acrylic paint (unless, of course, that you are using the technique in a pure way).

Then I used colors to define and add some details of the illustration and acrylic paint to change a couple of colors that I regretted having put in.

To finish, with a fine marker I added the whole weft and broke some contours.

Good luck for all of you!

dude that's some legit DMT ART! nice!!!!
can I request you to make more of these trippy stuff!?
LOVE IT!!! <3

I like this dark surrealistic art, the softness of the colours makes it more disturbing and creepy.

Double congratulations for you, first for winning the contest and second, for your first curie vote =).

interesting technique mixing water colors and acryllics! Very beautiful result! I really love how the horns f the goat creates a frame, perfect!

Have a good day for you! I have many delayed comments, because my account does not recover! Thanks for commenting on my post and for supporting me!

I adore this so much! The colors look amazing and I love the inks on the finished image. Well done!

Thanks, @vermillionfox.
I'm very happy that you liked my drawing. I am also a lover of colors (and I love foxes!).

It's an honor for an inexperienced artist yet!

I saw your work in the contest, I'm glad you won and apart you've received the vote of Curie. You did a great job of combining several elements to create this illustration. I like the look of the black goat and the red moon that is in the sky that forms inside its horns

I appreciate your generous words. I am very happy for the assessment. I love that you looked at the goat and the moon, I wanted them to be focal points.
Thank you.

You did it because they caught my attention

I'm a bad artist, but, I can appreciate the technique. This is a beautiful watercolor, I could never work with this material so precisely. I decided that this is some kind of graphics. I was very surprised when I read that this is a watercolor. Cool! The theme of the fall is revealed.

Hey theeere Octocel :D First of all, congratz to finishing your studies...I have my thesis defense literally this friday and I feel I should also concentrate more on that rather that sitting on steemit hahah :D

And to your creation...I hate everything which has whatever to do with paranormal stuff :D soo the picture itself is kinda scary to me haha :D I for sure wouldnt put it on my wall :D But when it comes to the arts, I guess you've done amazing :) How much time did you need for this?
