ART EXPLOSION WEEK 54: Theme: NO THEME!!!/ Sixth sense oil painting
Sixth sense
This is my entry for the contest #Artexplosion sponsored by @juliakponsford and @curie and guest judge: @vachemorte ... Thanks again for the support of the new visual creators!.
Having no theme for this week, I managed to experiment with the traditional techniques of painting: oil and acrylic. The concern for representation went to the background, the portrait was taking shape while playing with the rejection between the oil painting (oil) and the painting in acrylic (water).
sixth sense oil painting
Mixed technique
wood 22x30 cm
Initially the wooden support had oil paint, on which was covered with acrylic paint in the background and face. As a next step, a plastic bag was placed over the acrylic paint stain and the water, when the bag dried, the bag was removed, with the purpose of expressing texture in the composition.
However, being the base oil was not compatible with water and acrylic resulting in the paint stain was absorbed, and at the same time expand, generating interesting lines in the composition.

Inspiration in my being
The figure is naked because it does not need the material, superficial, plastic to hide. on the other hand it has no mouth; since a look is worth more than a thousand words (insinuates secrets, mystical).
The third eye
alludes to the extraordinary perception, beyond the apparent (interest in the occult).
The Third Eye (also known as the inner eye) is a mystical and esoteric concept that refers to an invisible eye or energetic and etheric vortex that would provide a perception beyond what could be perceived with ordinary sight.
Materials:
- Wood
- Brushes
- Pencil "hb"
- Acrylic
- Oil
- Trementine and oil of bond
Process
Step 1. Paint the wood with white acrylic (this will keep the paint in time)
Step 2. draw the figure clearly and precisely.
Step 3. Place the first layer of diluted acrylic in large amounts of water, to identify the shades.
Step 4. generate texture with a plastic bag on the acrylic stain wait for it to dry to remove it
Step 5. Paint skin and hair details with oil. Iidentifying the high, medium and low tones of the composition.

Wow, this is a really amazing piece of art. It's a little bit spooky, but I guess the magic is exactly in that.

I do love her eyes. It's spells out something sinister and I love the mood. There's no need to frown or a smile. The eyes just tells it all.
very intriguing subject, she has the 3rd eye so a higher knowledge level than normal people but no mouth so she can not share it, her nudity symbolize that she is a pure creature and maybe that is the reason why she can not comunicate with us
Uao! I really like how it is turned out. I loved the texture of each color. Congratulation! Good job
Very Beautiful Indiana <3 Lo Amé y se parece a ti e.e jaja :3
Amazing work!! I love the texture!
Wow that looks lovely. I love the texture, the colors and how mysterious it looks... even with no mouth! Whoa. I am also reminded of Vincent from the anime YuYu Hakusho (Ghost Fighter).
