„Long Distance Relationship” Artwork
My new acrykil painting called:
„A long distance relationship”
Every time when I tell people I’m in a long distance relationship, that my boyfriend is from America, I hear things like: oh, so it’s not going to last right? Oh, it must be so hard for you. It won’t last, the distance is to big. It won’t work, it’s impossible.
Really. Every time.
Well, yes, it’s not always easy. But those kind of relationships are based on conversation, we talk to each other every day, you can really get to know a person very well like that and you get very close to each other. I’m sure we talk to each other more than a lot of couples who live in the same place.
Besides, it is a chance to really understand why are we in a relationship and why is that person special to us. Why do people want to be in a relationship? Because they feel lonely? They what to feel safe? They feel like they can’t live without the other person because they love them so much? And what if suddenly the other person leaves them? Or they die. What then? The other person dies too?
I think it’s not healthy to feel like we can’t live without someone. It’s much better when both of you do your own thing, you don’t have to do everything together. This is what a long distance relationship can help you understand. You wouldn’t be able to do that with anybody. If you’re with someone who’s just making you feel safe and then you’re far away, you start to see you can do stuff on your own and you don’t want to be with that person anymore. But if you really just love the person for who they are, they make you feel good no matter how far they are, and you support each other and help each other grow, making each other better people, then even the long distance won’t be an obstacle for you. It can really help you love yourself first before loving a second person.
Everything depends on the perspective. A long distance relationship can be a beautiful thing and a great experience if you want it to be and if you’ll make it happen. Don’t ever let people discourage you with anything! 💚
I’ve recently started a new project on instagram “Optimistic Art Every Day”, you can see this picture and some more over there 😊
That is a message that everyone needs to take to heart. Negativism is not needed in any endeavour of life, whether it is love, hobbies, food likes, work, art work or anything people need to look more toward the positive, like, "oh wow, I bet you just love it when you get actual time to be together" instead of the oh bummer attitude for you people have.
I love the painting, the tying together of the two trees into infinity. the melding of their nature as they grow together. Very nice painting.
Yes! Exactly, you get it! People should definitely have more positive attitude. There's a lot of things you can worry about, a lot of bad things that can happen, but it's not getting you anywhere, it's not helping anybody to worry so much, about things that are not even there yet. People put a lot of fears on us, media, news, friends, worried parents :P but if all those negative things are possible, then all those good ones are possible too :) better to focus on the bright side :D
Beautiful image. My husband and I dated long distance through college. Both within the U.S., but I get you. Don't listen to anyone, except your heart and his. We've now been married 12 years and have a 6 year old son.
U.S. is huuuge so I can imagine :) that's so nice! yes we shouldn't let people discourage us, I think everything is possible! Wish you and your family joy and happiness!!! <3
D'oh! I just noticed the metaphor of this wonderful piece of art as I looked a second time :)
Awesome artwork! Inspiring, and I generally agree with your sentiments as well. Hey.. We're ready for another piece of artwork soon.
We're going to be expanding our contest into something that more people can participate in, even if they don't want to play in the game or be a judge or whatever.
We're going to a create a sort of marketplace for artist or researchers to trade work with each other, to find jobs or offer them, or people can even choose to do work for free if they want to, it'll all be between the individuals. So.. I would really really love a good piece of artwork to express this idea of a "marketplace".
I'd like a picture in the crystal castle somewhere of a town center sort of area with shops set up all over the place and people doing business, exchanging different kinds of artwork and services for each other like people making paintings for others or perhaps a musician with a microphone and guitar playing music for people or someone doing computer work researching for someone, or perhaps someone doing photography, or filming video, or.. Giving a speech. Or.. Maybe someone work on a science experiment of some sort. Or.. A magician doing a magic trick, or... Someone writing in a book or on a scroll. Or someone creating something with a 3D printer. Or all of those things combined and any other creative things you could think of.
Would be cool to have yourself in the picture as well drawing pictures for people!!! :)
I would additionally love it if you could put as many of the main characters in the image somewhere as well. Myself, charisma777, plushzilla, kryptocek, bashadow, luckysteem, harj, addempsea, and it would be cool to get timcliff and sandrina in there too if possible. If that's too much, I understand! Though if you're up for the challenge... I think this will be one of the most epic and most needed images yet.. This one will be similarly important to the first castle image you made I think cause this is for a whole new level of the world which I think is going to be well received.
Oh and.. Can you make sure to find a way to put some crystals in the picture as well? Maybe have like part of the crystal castle in there? if not more crystals on the ground like the plushzilla image would be good! That sorta seems like a trademark for us are the crystals.. That and the UFO, it'd also be neat if you could see part of the UFO parked on the ground somewhere. Heh.
Also is it possible I could pay you in SBD this time? I noticed when you fixed those other images you asked for SBD instead of steem.. Do you want SBD instead? That would be helpful for me because I've been spending too much of my steem, and I have a better amount of SBD to spend.
Long distance relationships are difficult but somehow I've grown to prefer mine. Of course, it'd be nice to see more of my boyfriend but this way we really get to know each other and I enjoy the time to discover myself. Love the artwork too. Great job!
Yes, exactly, I think so too! I think discovering yourself first is the most important thing to develop a healthy relationship with somebody. Thank you so much!
What works for one person or one couple may not work for others.
Shock horror!
Much of the general public must never be exposed to this fundamental truth lest they choke on their corn-flakes in the morning. It is far, far too revolutionary a concept for them to wrap their heads around.
You must never live your own life in a way that contradicts their well thought out, enlightened world view, right?
You sound happy...It seems to be a situation that you are happy and satisfied with...You actually have genuine honest to goodness conversation (significant proportion of the population almost drop their fries and faint.)
It almost sounds like it is working for both of you, doesn't it?
Always sleeping under the same stars!
We all got just the one life, unless I missed a sub-clause in the T's & C's and I'm really getting ripped off! We gotta live it in the way that suits us, brings us joy and happiness and in a way that squeezes the most juice out of everyday.
I for one hope your relationship which is based on something more than apathy and being too lazy to move out and find a new apartment, (I know those people) goes from strength to strength.
Happy to have crossed paths with you, have an amazing journey, take good care :)

Love knows no distance! I'm sure you two appreciate the time you have together much more than the rest of us who aren't in a long distance thing. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I love your artwork! I'
