Introducing My Art and Why You Shouldn't Give Up On Yours ❤️😌

in #art7 years ago (edited)

Hello fellow Steemians!

I wanted to share some of my art with you today.

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. Like many other artists, I was inspired thanks to the popularity of Japanese animations in the early 2000s. I've never taken any proper art classes. Everything I know has been self taught. I owe a huge thanks to all of the wonderful people who share their skills and knowledge on the internet.

When I started college, I did not have the intention of making drawing into a career. Everyone around me made me feel like there was no way to make real money through art. So, I did as many do and studied health care instead. I stopped drawing and focused on my studies. But my career never gave me the same joy that creating art did.

8 years later, I really regret that decision. Drawing is a part of me that will always be there. I wonder every day how far I could have come if I had continued to practice every day. I've forgotten so many skills over the course of my 8 year break. But, the great part of learning the second time around is that things come back to you faster. I'm excited to get back into drawing (for good) and see how far I can go in the next 8 years.

To my fellow artists who are just starting out...don't give up and don't get discouraged. As long as you do what you love, you will go far in life.

[5] No lie, I used to be obsessed with the anime, Naruto. My mission in life at that time: make Sakura into a stronger character.

Thank you for taking a look through my sketchbook!

Always great when you encourage others. That's what this community is for! Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't agree more! We could all use a little encouragement! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment! ☺️

Awesome artwork thanks for sharing : )

I just happened to see your post because I caught sight of the words "Why You Shouldn't Give Up". It just drew me in and I was so touched by what you wrote and drew. The beauty of your adventure is that you were able to find your way back to what you love. It is a glorious journey for you to find your true calling. And the message that you sent out to others is wonderful, because everyone should follow their dreams. I'm relatively new to Steemit and it took me awhile to write my first post which was a few days ago. I finally found my true calling which is a journey to finding inner peace. So here's to your beautiful talent and creative gift!

Thank you for such kind words! I don't know if I've found my true calling for sure. I think the only way to know that is to look back on this years from now. But I do know that I'm doing something that I love 😊 And that's good enough for me. But yes, If everyone followed their dreams, I think we would live in a much better world. I read your first post and it was great. We could all use some guidance towards finding peace in this crazy fast world. Here's to us all doing what we love 💕

Love the internet for the skills you can learn or re-learn. Really great work!

Yes, exactly! I don't know where I would be without everything I've learning from other people sharing their skills.

Heck Yeah!! I should have been here sooner. I read every word and I can relate to it as a fellow drawing artist. However, I don't draw as good as you. But I am really happy to see a wonderful artist who is going to inspire, challenge and motivate to draw more and more in the future. Thank you @wlsghwjd

You may see my recent drawing post if you have a sec

Thank you so much! I'm so happy my words could inspire even one person ☺️. I've read your story, and I think you have all the right things needed to become a successful artist. Just don't give up too soon like I did when I was younger. I'll be looking forward to seeing your art develop in the future!

Great post!
