The name of this art photograph is: 'Romantic Anxiety'
A romantic feeling mixes with some sort of danger or warning when I look at this one. Could it be that anxiety, a fear from the future, is portrayed in there? Everything looks nice and good in the present moment up there in the clouds, but then the eye slips down to the dark horizon. That second dimension overtakes the initial feeling. Can you feel it?
We have three clouds in three different colours. The big orange one, the medium greenish-greyish one and the very little white one. Interesting, eh? Even more so if we add the four colours in the sky flowing into one another to the mix. Look at dark blue becoming teal than flowing into pink and ending in light blue that vanishes into the light. All is happening in a curved fashion right above the black silhouetted horizon. If you take a closer look, you will notice that the orange cloud is situated in front of the bluish background and the greenish one is in front of the light pink part of the spectrum. A strong complementary balance is achieved there.
The added grain creates a special feel which defines the overall atmosphere. It is, undoubtedly, adding quite a bit to the canvas look. It removes this image away from the regular modern photography and gives me an additional joy of imperfection.
In today's world, there is so much perfection in every photograph that it makes me sick most of the time. Perfect looking food, perfect looking people, perfect looking appliances, flowers, sceneries, perfect looking whatever you name it. It became about how things appear rather than what they are or what they stand for. This is one of the many legacies of the consumer society we live in. The false "perfection advertisement" is coming from the superficial need to sell whatever to everyone, quickest as possible.
