A Few Pencil Portraits I Have Done Lately.
Life is keeping me pretty occupied right now and for one reason or another I don't have as much time to spend on steemit but I wanted to make a quick post to share some of the pencil drawings I have done lately and also to say that I hope to be back posting regularly in a week or so.
As you can no doubt see, I am still struggling with getting the hair and hands right but I am still very pleased with the progress I have made since I started drawing again about 6 months ago. :)
This is also the first dog I have ever drawn so I'm pretty happy with how that has turned out! :)

You've caught the character of the subjects and very nice balance of light and shadow.

I'm really sorry to have to postpone it at the last minute like that but I have a few things going on right now and wasn't sure how much time I would have to respond to the entries and such.

nice capture of facial expressions, those don't look like easy subjects to draw. Hair has always been difficult for me in pencil, I'll do everything I can to not draw the hair, except for the shadowed parts. I can't get the pencil sharp enough to draw hairs anyway!
Thanks a lot @therealpaul. I've watched a few youtube videos and it seems so simple in theory but in practice it is a little more difficult to get right. It takes a lot of something which I possess only in limited amounts....patience. :(

Vito is about eleven times more gorgeous than Mhysa, so I am just going to assume that you're joking.
That may well be so but since Luke asked me first it wouldn't really be right of me to do Vito first now would it?
He's a little fucker. Lol.
The doggy looks adorable! I think the people look so real it's kind of creepy >.> like they're going to come out of the picture. I really like how you drew the dog's eyes; the eyes look very moist and the tongue in contrast looks very dry (it looks like the dog is panting).

They are all good, but the dog one is brilliant as it really captures the devilment and cuteness of the dog :-)
