Unfathomable Look
Holding the pen in my hand, I start to draw the outlines of the image: A woman. She is looking back over her shoulder directly into the viewer's eyes. There is tension. There is direct contact. The look on the woman's face is clear and confident. She knows herself.
Half of her hair is still in the air, suspended from the shake of her head in the viewers direction. There is motion. There is elegance even in how her hair swings backward and pulled by gravity back to her shoulders.
Her look is natural. There is no thick make up which would distort that natural look of beauty. Her eyebrows are thick, pertaining to her youthfulness and her naturalness. There is that indescribable look in her eyes that makes this look a lasting imprint on the viewer's memory. It is hard to put distance to that memory, nor is there desire to do so.
In this moment, lasting only a split second there is clarity and determination.
Do you know the name of the girl in the picture? I do! A famous Swedish singer - Laleh! So great! Beautiful painting!
