Drawing of the day #6 Neuschwanstein Castle
Guten Abend Steemit friends! This is a sketchbook painting and fineliner drawing of the beautiful Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria, Germany.
I travelled here on an exchange in 2003, staying with a wonderful German family in Augsburg. I've loved Germany ever since - the people are friendly, the language is fantastic and the landscape is exciting, full of history and full of culture.
The castle itself was commissioned by King Ludwig II who was considered to be an eccentric. He was heavily inspired by Wagner to build it, though the castle was unfinished when he died. It may remind you of another very famous castle; the Disney castle was inspired by the fairy tail-esque building.
The castle remains a big part of why Germany is one of my favourite countries. If you love architecture and magic, put it on your list!
I really like your drawing here! I can't describe exactly what it is about it, I just do.
Thank you :) perhaps it's just the beauty of the castle! It really is awesome.
Pretty cool :)
Thanks buddy!
