Go on living

Those who hurt you are gone
They’re living, seldom thinking about what’s been done
Possibly oblivious to the harm they have caused
And you are here dying to yourself more and more everyday
Locking yourself up refusing to live life to its fullest
And re swallowing bitterness that has no usefulness
It’s high time you began to:
“go on living”
If you want to cry, go ahead
But when you do, let them be cleansing tears
Not tears that mock you as they fall
Not tears that crash down at your eyes with remembrance of yesterdays
Bringing waves and waves of hurt
Instead, let them drown your pain and wash away what’s past
When you are hurting and people try to heal you, let them
Sadly, we can’t see ourselves
And mirrors sometimes do lie
When you have fallen and they try to pick you up
Allow them
Allow them to help you piece yourself back together
Because they’ll know where better each piece will fit
And where the out of reach spaces lie
You can go ahead and generalize
Keep everyone in the same bracket
And shut yourself from the world
And continue hurting yourself
But don’t forget that those who hurt you have left and they are living
And you, that is what you must also do
You must go on
