Troilo – Crushing Art Power
Troilo was born in Tanato (Italy), studied architecture, and modern literature at the University of Florence and graduated from the European Institute of Design in Rome. He is not exactly a rookie but what makes him so special is the fact that he does not paint with brushes but with his fingers.

This artist just puts his fingers in big cans of white or black paint. Seconds later, he just walks with his fingers over a canvas and paints. His work is rough, raw but incredibly beautiful. The artist from Milan has a primal force that assimilates in his art and it is frightening, impressing and mostly unique.

His work is simple but incredibly inspiring and creative even if it wrapped in aggressiveness. His subjects are mostly a highly idealized body that is nothing more than a tribute to the Renaissance masters and the statues of the Old Greek and Roman era.

Troilo gives special attention to the contrast and the classical painting arts through impressionist spatters who form a chaotic décor. Very often, his work has an autobiographical touch it reflects, for instance, his relation with his father and is a manifestation of his fascination for father figures.

In his series ‘In The Name of the Fathers,’ he shows the highs and lows of a father-son relation, the never-ending dynamics between sons and fathers in a circle that continues from generation to generation.
