Last-Minute Entry for Project Curie Logo Contest!
Though I'm quite certain that the Curie Project Logo Contest has enough entries, I played with some ideas and thought I'd throw my hat in the ring.
I had a few simple ideas, but decided to execute my favorite. I'm a bit of a traditionalist, so I hand-lettered it and drew the elements with ink. I wanted to convey the minnow in the little bottle (with a scientific nod to Curie) and show the dolphins jumping out. Popular curation symbols are present in the quills - and pencils and a paintbrush nod to both writing and art. The whale sits on top and blows steem. And of course there is a little bit of luck (the horseshoe) for good measure. I wanted my interpretation to feel like a celebration, complete with stars, confetti, and Steem.
If you want to see the entries and vote for your favorite, you can find the post here.
But delay not! The contest is over in just a few hours!
Below are my initial sketches for this logo concept, just for a little insight into my visual brainstorming process.
Thanks for reading! I have some pretty involved and (hopefully) informative posts in the works that you'll see here soon.
Perfection
thanks so much @opheliafu ! I can't help but put lots of little stuff in there I guess ;)
Wow amazing detail! VERY different than the direction i went with it haha. Nice work!
ha - well I can't help but throw a bit of detail in most of my work. Perhaps for a logo that isn't goal though :) Simplification is not my strong suit.
I think your entries are great! I am partial to the one with the two quills and the ink because it works so nicely on the textured background, and I'm a sucker for the texture and feel of paper ;)
Ya i think i like that best but doesnt seem to be super popular unfortunately. Thanks for checking them out and good luck to you!
My favorite sketches for illustration projects are hardly ever picked, so I feel you!
nice one @storyseeker
thank you!
Muy lindo lo que has publicado
Thanks so much @jlufer !
I want you to do my logo! :) Fabulous - the design and the sketches. Words and images - an illustrator's life.
aw thanks @fairytalelife !
also- it is fun to flex these design-y muscles every once in awhile. Not my strongest suit, but good to reach outside of the norm sometimes...
Nice work- that could go on something like a diploma very well.
Not gonna lie, this is a fabulous idea. I would LOVE to see this illustrated.
