Galleon Trade
The Galleon Trade
Early Filipinos trading with visitors aboard ships from nearby countries. Back in the days when you can barter anything from spices, china wares, silk, gold and what have you. This is what they call the galleon trade.
Hey guys, this is the final edit of the drawing that I made for my nephew. This is a school requirement could be under Araling Panlipunan or History I am just guessing. They sent me a reference photo to recreate and I did not modify any of it just to be on the safe side. I wish communication via online chat was clear so I could have asked more questions. This drawing is about the Galleon Trade that is part of the Philippine history. Merchants from other parts of the globe come and visit the Philippine shores to trade with the locals. I did not google anymore as I was running late I just tried to remember what I learned from my history class from 10 or 15 years ago.
Here is how I made my drawing
I went straight to creating the line drawing using a black washable pen on a bond paper. I am glad I did not make major errors aside from the crooked lines. The proportions and depth are just right
I also used the colored pens to put the base color. Notice I left some white spaces that will become the highlights. The color pens are too bright and heavy and it was a challenge for me to work on the lighter colors like the skin and the pig
This is what I mean by the challenge in working with color pens see how intense the colors look. So I had to tone down a bit using crayons. I had to color over some areas which I think are too much and tone them down a bit as you can see on the final edit.
Hope you like it and thank you for reaching this far. Until next time
