Tropical Jewelry from reed grass seeds, Jobe's tears
Tropical jewelry from reed grass seed, jobe's tears. These seeds grow with a hollow inside making it a ready made natural bead.
I find making these pieces very enjoyable. From finding the reeds with mature seeds, which usually grow along river sides, harvesting and separating the seeds, then selecting the beads i will use. I create these pieces using the skill i learned as a child in Ukraine of making traditional jewelry from glass beads. I imagine the design, and then like the tiny glass beads, i use the beads to shape it. The final pieces are what i call jungle chic ;)
