The sketch for today: the woman in a vintage dress
Some days ago one of my friends ask me if I could work to create a little comic about an episode of the life of the ancient painter Angelica Kauffman. I already did an illustration about this painter for a project where other illustrators are involved (every one of us had to illustrate one woman artist of the past), it's an interesting project about the women in art and we are about 30 artists that we are working on it. Some days ago a small indipendent publishing house ask to us if we can work to realize a comic/graphic novel of about 8 pages for each artist. They would publish 3 comic books about the stories of the women in art in the past, so it can be a good opportunity for our "group".
I said to my friend "Ok, I can try to do it!". It's the first time for me, but I love to experiment myself in something new and I got an ace up my sleeve: my hubby worked on some comics in the past, so he can help me !
At first, before to work about the storyboard, I needed to watch if my own style can be work enough good in some scenes. To verified if it can work well, I'm sketching some of my "rounded head" woman in different poses and different dresses and yes, it works!
This is one of the sketches that I had fun to do:
As usual, I took some pics of the process too:
I hope you like it ^_^
