Impressions From My First Group-Exhibition - The ART SPACE Gallery @Steemfest²
The Steemfest ART SPACE Gallery
Dear art-lovers,
at the third day of Steemfest in Lisbon I was able to visit the ART SPACE Gallery at the LX Factory. This area is a former threads and fabrics factory from the 19th century, that had been turned into a place for all kind of creatives. There are countless funky shops, nice coffee bars & restaurants, and you can see artsy stuff everywhere.
I especially liked, that the site is set just under the 25 de Abril Bridge, which creates some awesome views. The Steemfest gallery was well-signposted, so I just found it by walking straight through one of the streets.
The ART SPACE gallery was set up by @saramiller, @quinneaker, @everlove, @opheliafu, @lifemovedbysteem, and the one and only @roelandp. He just happen to be there, when I arrived and he was smiling, as always. Seems like he has infinite positive energy.
The space was surpringly large and already crowded by many Steemians.
Because of a little hangover from last nights party, I sadly missed the talk of @opheliafu, who inspired the visitors to create their own art. Fortunatly she put the ressources online, so that everybody can still join and create some artworks. If you want to make a post about it, use the #steemfestart tag.
Here are the SteemFest Art-Workshop resources

Part 2: STEEMpunk drone
The girl to the left is a traveling artist, that @inquiringtimes met before Steemfest started. After he showed her, how she can use Steem to earn money while traveling, she even decided to join Steemit. I'd like to follow her, but don't know her username yet.
Here is the post, @inquiringtimes made about it.
When I started looking around I noticed, that the Steemfest Art-team printed all submitted works, which was really amazing. You can see my submission at the top right of the next collage.
@roelandp even managed to get some old fashioned TVs to showcase the artworks of the "collaborative art journey" by @everlove and @verbal-d put some sound to the slideshow. Unfortunately I couldn't hear it, while I was there. You can see the video installation right below.
Here are some more impressions and close-ups from pieces I liked. I know the one by @mikkolyytinen, which is the second one in the second row. If you want me to tag your artwork, please comment and I can update the post.
I was very happy to have met @paolobeneforti (who also did a talk) and his wife @silviabeneforti from Italy. They are both great artists and very active members of Steemit's art-community.
The top left piece at the collage above is called "Ida Livingstone" by @marty-art, an artist from Belgium. I managed to choose her lastname, after the artist decided to do a little contest on Steemit.
Isn't it amazing, what Steemit can do?
It was so much fun to see all these different pieces printed into the real world and the atmosphere was very inspiring. I don't know about you, but I never showcased my art at a group-exhibition in Portugal before.
And all this was funded just by the blockchain.
To the left you can see @vcelier, my co-translator of the Phill from GCHQ webcomic by @katharsisdrill. He was also preparing for the upcoming Photo-Workshop and it was a pleasure to meet him in person.
Photo-Workshop
Last but not least, I listened to the talk by @timsaid, who gave some very valuable tips about photography before we started the LX Factory-Photowalk. But that's material for another post.
It must have been a great experience. I am really missing this art galleries.
My favorite Shortcut ever!!! :D
Let's get our new projects going ;)
My photo was there, great exhibition!
Hugs from Copenhagen!!!
Yeah! Was so much fun meeting you!
You're definitely the grooviest mean mommy, that I happen to know ;-) Followed your account the other day and looking forward to seeing more of your photography. Big hug!
Oh you certainly will, even though now I'm posting about SteemFest and Steemit in general haha!!! I think I mentioned you on that post - if not, I'm editing it now :D :D :D Hug back!
Cool, thanks for the mention :-) Seems like we had some very similar impressions at Steemfest and I love the idea about an ongoing Steemland. So much inspiration, so much to come! Let's change this fucking world!
That's the spirit YESSSSS !!!!!!! :D :D :D
well I heard simething about it few days ago, now i know :) seems like all great artists!
Yes, so many talent at the Steem blockchain ;-)
Hey, looks like Steemfest 2 was awesome!
And so glad to see you actually found Ida Livingstone! Hahaha, amazing :) Even though I wasn't there in person, I'm still glad my print was there.. Bit of goose bumps there :D Thanks, man!
And yes, connected to @pixelfan, now ;)
Yes, it was really amazing and thanks to the organizing team the Art Space was fantastic, too. They decided to print every submission, which was a really cool idea to show the broad range of Steemit artists. Without all the artists and creatives Steemit would be not even half as good, imho.
Glad, that you and @pixelfan connected. I've even met some Belgian Steemians like @roxane and @arcange at Steemfest.
Awesome, I read they would judge the submissions, so I wasn't sure whether _Ida_would make it, but then I saw all submissions would be printed - really cool, and I'm glad to have been a little part of it :) Steemit does love it's artists, and I'm grateful for that!
I've come across @roxane and @arcange's steemitboard, didn't know they were Belgian, thanks for the info ;)
You actually went to SteemFest; Nice! We could see the conference through live stream, so I was not too bothered not to be in Lisbon, but this Art hall I would have loved to see and experience in real life! I've seen post with video of Steemians jamming, super nice photos and paintings. And then I also see your photographs. I hope you enjoyed this part of SteemFest, better than the official part. i know I would have.
Yeah, the best things about Steemfest are the floor talks and get togethers. You can't have that by watching the streams unfortunately. Next time you have to see it for yourself ;-)
I do realise that indeed. Steem Dance Asia is what I propose, to mix in more music, and more floor talk, and less presentations :)
Oh toll, so Ort extra für die Künstler ist ja klasse, das war sicher sehr spannend und ich hoffe, auch inspirierend :)
Das kann man wohl sagen. Bin immer noch ziemlich geflashed von dem ganzen Event :-)
100% upvote - must have been awesome and thanks for sharing!
Thank you and yes, the whole event was pretty much amazing. The Art Space was particularly cool, because it brought Steemit into the real world :-)
nice pics and summary, @shortcut! I'll write my post about ArtAtSteemfest soon! :)
Thank you Paolo :-) Looking forward to reading your post.
