A beautiful Drawing of a Late Bloomer.

Hello my dear steemians! Its @shellychell03 here your friendly nurse. I would like to share to you the beautiful drawing of an 11 year old kid who happens to have a Developmental Delay.

Developmental delay is when a child is developing slowly either physically, emotionally, socially and its communication skills than usual children. This means that they doesn't reach the milestone at the expected time .They take longer to learn and develop new skills. The common types of Developmental delay are speech/language delay, motor skills, social and emotional skills and cognitive skills.

I would like to introduce my niece lets call her "Ate Pon2x" in Filipino that means an older sister. She is 2 years older than her classmates , that's why she is called "Ate" to them.

When she was 3-4 years years old, we noticed that there is some delay of her language and speech. She is struggling with her speech. She only speaks few words like Mama and Papa. After that we were wondering why she doesn't communicate with other children. She likes play alone watch cartoons alone and she doesn't interact with them.
At first we thought that she was just introvert but our perception changed when I saw her staring blankly for a matter of minutes (that was absence seizure). The next day we went to the city for her check up. Then the Doctor ordered EEG . EEG or Electroencephalogram means that it is the measurement of the electrical activity of the brain. So the result came and she has seizure , she also have a Delayed Development. Then after the Doctor prescribed medications for 2 years.

Time flies so fast she is now 11 years old. I was curious about what she was doing so I sneak to her bag and saw her works . I didn't know that show has a hidden talent. She is good in drawing and she really love it. I was fascinated by her works so I will share it here.
