I really like this style and I agree that it's a good idea to flesh it out into a world. You should give yourself more credit, it's easily recognizable as a mud golem (though a pizza golem would be a fun idea).

Using contrasting halves to drive home the memento mori theme is nice enough, but all the little details and clean lines really make this special.
And the favorite is...
The image itself is pleasing enough, but @anritco goes into a lot of detail showing all the thoughts behind many aspects of their piece, earning them a share of @steembasicincome (as soon as I can withdraw from bittrex).
