Water Color Drawing for Magazine - Illustration process using Photo Colors and Black Pen - Episode 1
Today I am posting the process of the water color Illustration which is done for the first episode of the new serial 'Atithi' being published in 'TARANGA' weekly magazine.
EPISODE - 1
'Darshana' lives in a small city with his wife 'Veda' and two children. The city is badly affected by the communal riots and the whole city is burnt and damaged. Darshana, who is very helpful, goes out to check if somebody is in trouble. He spots a six year old boy who is separated from his family, wounded and very scared. He brings the boy home and asks Veda to take care of him. Veda, who is very kind hearted, cures the boy, treats him like her own son and consoles him. They name him 'Lama'
I have illustrated this sequence where the affection of a woman for the unknown boy is reflected.

Mediums used:
- Ivory Paper 300 gsm
- Graphite Pencil
- Black Pilot Pen - 0.5 mm
- Camlin Photo Colors - Portrait Pink, Warm Brown, Scarlet, Dark Blue, Deep Yellow and Stone Grey
- Brush with Round Bristles
- Image Editing: Photoshop
The basic sketch is done with 2B Pencil
The plain water is put on the background portion and Deep Yellow, Warm Brown and Light Crimson color drops are put on the plain water so that it spreads and blends properly
The color for the face and costume is put using brush with round bristles. Once the colors are dried,
