After...

Much deliberation...

We are finally live! It has been an honor to present Robyn Eggs Art (dotcom) to the community. Thank you for all your support. I hope you will find this a new place to participate in the "One Human Basket" project. Robyn Eggs is currently working to promote Oregon Art and Oregon Artists. As you may know, the beautiful, green state of Oregon does not have any sales tax. Buying art from my local, online store is a great way to contribute to the community AND spend your money at the same time.

Artist Promotion

Robyn Eggs Art is looking for Oregon artists who would like to be promoted in the galleries and in the online store.

Details for the Artist

A micro fee of 4.2% applies to each sale. Once Robyn Eggs receives payment in PayPal, she subtracts the 4.2% fee and forwards 10% the earnings to the artist's PayPal account. The artist is responsible for shipping the product. Shipping costs are included in the price of the item, and should be considered before listing. No listings over $5000. When the artist emails proof of shipment to [email protected], the rest of the earnings will be forwarded to the artist's PayPal address.

If you want to learn more

About how I made this website possible, besides the initial gift offering from @noblitt, check out this video I found super helpful by WPCrafter. If you are seriously considering launching your own website, and it needs a store, I recommend this as a great place to start.

It can be quite the undertaking to do a website on your own, btw. You have to be very motivated if you are a novice, like me. I was, however, able to do it - it just took A LOT of learning. I learned a lot through my mistakes.

Special thanks to WPCrafter!

Here is a list of the lessons I learned while using WordPress.org to create my site:

  1. Don't delete those extra cart, store, and checkout pages - haha!
  2. And, if you do, you can download another copy of the same template and just delete what you don't want, the work you have already done will still be there. Just don't click the option "delete old site."
  3. First thing, go into "customize" and work your way down the line. Customize your header, your menus, your buttons, and - most importantly - your font and colors. This will streamline your theme the way you want. And consistency is crucial for looking professional.
  4. Don't be discouraged. Just buckle down and recreate the page if you have to.
  5. Don't edit everything in Elementor. Elementor is great for a lot of edits, but it does not offer up the original WordPress blocks when in this mode. My blog could not be edited using Elementor, because I wanted that awesome "Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg" plugin - the post carousel.
  6. Always test your store. :-) And when you test a product, make sure it has all the same parameters as your other products.
  7. Start simple. Just to launch. Because, holy cow, it's a lot of work!! So many posts I want to make and so many listing I want to list in the store. It is straight overwhelming!
  8. Be fearless. Know what you want and how you want it to look and don't give up until you are happy with the way it looks. It will never be exactly how you want, of course, but it can get very close.
  9. Use the new Brave browser to earn money as a publisher. If you are using WordPress, it is easy to get verified - just a plugin away.
  10. Don't delete plugins, just deactivate 😉

Be Brave

When you use the Brave browser

You can actually get paid to watch ads! You can earn cryptocurrency - BAT (Basic Attention Token) - for watching them, too. AND, you can use your BAT to tip websites! 😮 If you want to be on the forefront of what Brave has to offer, I recommend signing up as a Publisher. The Brave browser is the ultimate in security - and fully customizable in its protections. It's so secure, you can't even verify with their Uphold wallet without using another browser like FireFox! LOL 😂

THANKS ALL!

Your support and involvement

Is very much appreciated. So thank you, for all you do as a community. Cheers!

I wish you much success with your new venture! I'm "up" a ways, in northwest Washington... but I know there's a lot of good art in Oregon (I lived around Portland for a while), and I'm all in favor of any venture that promotes creativity and independent artists!

Sweet @reddragonfly!

Thanks for stopping by and saying Hi! If interested, maybe we could host a STEEMIT MEETUP sometime? I've been wanting to do that in this area for awhile now. We could have a PNW meetup! What do you think?

P.S. If any of your PDX peeps could use a nearly free store outlet (or a free gallery display), please pass on my info! THX

Cheers!
