THE MAN IN THE MIRROR
Can you paint a lie
So that it be a picture of the truth?
Can you deceive so much
That my instincts cannot tell?
Why reflect a lie?
Oh! mirror of reflection
Yearning for the truth,
Daily I would stand before you
But then, again and again you would lie.
How imperfect you have become!
Can't help, but question your dexterity,
in distinguishing real and unreal.
Or why then, is it a tedious task
reflecting an exact replica of me?
Or is it I that fail to fathom these complexities?
Oh! mirror of reflection
I am, but an ordinary man.
Nevertheless, within my reflected image embeds an amount of greatness.
One that's never been birth amongst the greatest of them all.
A glimpse of the future
Is it, you reflect?
Does this explain these complexities?
oh! how understanding is far from me.
Oh! mirror of reflection
Your mysteries, not withstanding.
I choose to believe, you reflect
The greatness in this ordinary man.
Though an ordinary man,
I am...
