Delta IX
I’m working on some photography for a division of a new company that will sell custom throwing axes and accessories used within the sport.
This first photo is warm.
The same photo in noir.
See What I See:
The logo has been laser engraved. It was a tricky procedure because of the reflective quality of the axe head, which reflects the light from the laser.
Today I Learned:
That there are different types of laser engravers.
With this type of laser engraver a special chemical coating is applied to the steel, first.
This lessens the surface reflection, allows the laser light to slightly penetrate the surface of the steel and promotes the darkening of the etching.

Cool post as usual from a cool gal :)
Just a note, there's a typo - devision - in the first sentence (which shows up in the post preview). We're certain you don't mean you intend to remove anyone's eyes! :D
Hahaha! I don’t know what happened...that usually only occurs when I’m cold. ;)
(Thanks for having my back @vantocan group.) ;)
beautiful stuff!
Thanks for taking a look @hennessy!
Excellent review Rebecca and I would like to get such an ax for my use, because it looks amazing!
Thanks for taking a look at the progression so far, @serkagan. A piece of ax art that’s functional too. ;)
Wow! Great work. That ax is beautiful and the photos do it justice! I gave a follow, I look forward to more of this content!
Thank you bramblejam!
We’re about 6 weeks into the project and it’s been a lot of fun.
@knarly327 is working with a blacksmith from Europe. Once the heads are crafted, then he’s refining all the curves, polishing to a mirror finish (the blade heads come black and a bit crusty out of the forge.) Then he makes the custom handles and he’s currently working on leather wrapping.
Thanks for taking a look. ;)
Wow! So exciting!
it's very nice and great art photography
