Today we are doing a traditional dance rehearsal, namely the dance ranup lampuan.

We do this activity to insert cultural arts performances next week, this is a routine exercise that we do every three days.

This traditional dance is a welcome dance from Aceh. His name is Ranup Lampuan Dance

Ranup Lampuan Dance is one of the traditional dances originating from the Aceh region. This dance includes a welcoming dance which is usually performed by female dancers by presenting betel as a sign of community acceptance. Ranup Lampuan Dance is one of the traditional dances that is quite famous in Aceh, and is often displayed to welcome honored guests and other traditional welcoming events.

Ranup Lampuan dance is usually performed by female dancers. The number of dancers usually consists of 5-7 dancers. In the show, the dancers were dressed in beautiful traditional clothes and carrying puans and betel which will be presented to the guests. Accompanied by traditional music, they dance with their unique movements in front of guests and spectators.

This movement in Ranup Dance is usually dominated by gentle movements that symbolize the politeness and sincerity of the dancers. When observed carefully, every movement in this dance has special meaning in it. The movement of the movement was like a greeting movement, picking betel, cleaning betel leaves, washing lime, giving gambir and betel nut and the last was presenting betel leaves to the guests.
