Character Challenge Drawing #1
Most of April I was working on a character design challenge for www.artstation.com.
I want to share some of my work here.
The theme was "Wild West" and the challenge was to design 10 characters (2 gunslingers, 2 law men/women, 2 townsfolk, 2 native americans, and 2 outlaw characters).
Other than that it was open to broad interpretation.
I chose to go with a sort of crypto/virtual reality theme. All characters being avatars in a virtual reality know as the "Etherspace".
I'm going to post each character separately and spread them out. So here is the first character.
His name is Jasper Bristleberry and he is a Sheriff in the "Etherspace" He is an ancient but tiny Juniper Tree.
"Jasper Bristleberry is a Juniper Tree and the Sheriff of the Sonoran district of the Etherspace. The Sonoran district is a vast desert space populated by all types of banditos and grifters. As an outlaw you never know when that shrub behind the rock over there is going to pull out his six-shooter and arrest you. Jasper is over 650,000 blocks old; nearly as old as the etherspace itself. He's also a much quicker draw than you might think."
