Pulled off a tomb, impactful.
I recently visited the Chicago Art Museum, and I was floored. Not only is it a beautiful space, the art pieces they had there were varied and poignant. While they had famous pieces like Nighthawks and American Gothic, they had a piece that hit me hard.
This piece below was pulled off a tomb. The man on the right was originally grasping the man on the left in a farewell embrace, and the woman on the right has her hand on his arm. The man on the left is one who passed away.
I love to think that this is how death is, a momentary farewell.
