Guitar Painting/ Abstract Painting (One of my first ever made and SOLD paintings)

I did this painting in 2013. This was literally one of the first ever paintings i did on canvass. I believe it was the 3rd to be exact. This was also the largest canvass i had ever painted at the time. I remember staying up all night painting this, and I was kinda nervous painting something as large as this at the time.

Here are the process Shots......

I should add I am really self conscious about my realism so although early on Iam my artistic career i was doing much more of it, my confidence def was not there. This Guitar tho was one that i really liked

My first set of paintings were all called the drip series and had elements of drips in them. I want to say this was intentional, but when I was first starting out my control was not that good or technique. My first ever painting a water color called "BEACH FACE" started to have drips and I thought it looked cool so i went with it. It also gave me the freedom and confidence to be more relaxed painting knowing if i used to much water or if the paint started to drip, I would just go with it.

I was very inspired by Jackson Pollock, because he showed me that there is beauty in the madness or imperfections.

Here is me adding the drips and splatter

Below is a picture of the gentleman named Danny who purchased this painting at the annual event called ARTLANDO. 20140927_154156.jpg

ARTLANDO is a badass event put on in the fall every year by Orlando Weekly. This was the inaugural year, and the first art event me and jenny really ever did. We arrived late, with no canopy to our tent we had to put a tarp over it and dealt with some pretty rainy conditions all day (thankful most of our work is acrylic), but all in all it was a tremendous success for our debut as working artist.

Here is a picture of our make do set up and our family mascot PENNY!

Good going! Keep up the good work :)

Great work Paul! keep it coming

Thanks my man! The fun has just begun lol

nice! great process pictures. I need to remember to start taking pictures of those to

Thank you very much. Because this was one of my purse works I definitely took a lot of process photos. At this point in my artistic career was still kind of figuring my way around a canvas

well, I really dig the outcome. Drips and splatter are such a great artistic tool, and I think you did a really good job using them

much appreciated! I have more from this series i plan to share. I really encourage drips and splatter starting out too, because it takes some of the pressure off, of "staying between the lines"

Very unique and appealing. Keep up the creative work!

@durhampof will do sir! thanks for your feedback

My pleasure.....

You said it was big but I couldn't tell until the picture with you in it how big it was!

@tylersr yeah i need more perspective shots of my work for sure. It is crazy i used to think this was Super big and now it is more like a regular sized canvass that i work on. It is 36x48

Wow, followed to see more.

Great art, thank you for sharing.
following you
