Gorilla Forerunner - modified toy w.i.p.

hello!

the Gorilla Forerunner is equipped with a small jet-pack.
he can jump really far and high and he punches through all obstacles.
he is a messenger and pathfinder that is able to
traverse the dangerous wastelands even at night.

i got a cheap plastic gorilla from the flea market and went on hot-gluing
all kinds of small toy pieces on top of it.
some kind of laser-blaster serves for the jet-pack and is mounted on a bottle cap.
a small tank from a little toy-car is the fuel reservoir for the jet-pack.
made him armor with crafting foam and parts from plastic spoons and forks.

it´s obvious that he cannot fly around with that -
it just serves for small punching-bursts and jumps.
at this point i considered if i should add some wings but i decided not to.

i made him some bags and pouches instead.

once i was happy with all details i painted the whole thing with
matte black spray-paint and dry-brushed the gorillas fur
with some light gray acrylic paint.

that immediately looked nice and really popped out the fur-texture.
as you can see he is a friendly chap.

went on to paint his armor and all the details.

the gorilla is almost finished and the next step will be
to build him a little platform with some landscape on it
like i did for my cyborg-dino.

that will give him some more context and story
i´m thinking of a post-apocalyptic urban vibe...
hm... let´s see
