When I created this piece I thought how important the oxygen was. Without oxygen there would be no life; nevertheless, we take it for granted. Plants are the living organisms in charge of producing it through phosynthesis. Apart of making our planet beautiful, plants are literally oxygen producing "machines".
This piece is a collage. The flowers were created using dried leaves. The white bubbles represent the oxygen produced by the plants. It is a very simple concept; still it is the most important principle for life to exist, at least the way we know it. Once again I used some light red color for the background; as to me, that color is very vibrant, it represents life, love, passion and danger. It is like a mixture of emotions put in a salad bowl. How the salad tastes is up to us. It depends on how much of every thing we put into it.
Next I will quote a content from wikipedia that explains in simple words the importance of the Oxygen element: "By mass, oxygen is the third-most abundant element in the universe, after hydrogen and helium. Most of the mass of living organisms is oxygen as a component of water, the major constituent of lifeforms. Oxygen is continuously replenished by photosynthesis, which uses the energy of sunlight to produce oxygen from water and carbon dioxide. Oxygen is too chemically reactive to remain a free element in air without being continuously replenished by the photosynthetic action of living organisms."
I hope you enjoyed these few thoughts and made you think about caring for the planet and sustainability. Remember that what we put in the air, somehow it comes back to us. After all we only have one life and one planet.
