Woods of Colour
Feeling colour
A few days ago I shared in my post The Wood of Love a painting with you that was inspired by the Bois d'Amour in Pont-Aven, Brittany.
Something else inspired me whilst I was stood in the Bois d'Amour, and that was the words of the artist Paul Gauguin.
According to the artist Maurice Denis, Gauguin had told Séruzier : "How do you see these trees? They are yellow. So, put in yellow; this shadow, rather blue, paint it with pure ultramarine; these red leaves? Put in vermilion".
Gauguin had given the painter Séruzier a lesson when stood in Bois d'Amour. Looking at the effects of light in that same landscape I started to really feel the meaning behind those words.
I began my own experiments with colour and line
To me the forest floor felt like it was glowing a vibrant red of rusted leaves and earth. The shadows of the undergrowth felt blue against the yellow pouring through the canopy of the leaves.
I admire your work dear friend @ opheliafu, full of creativity and magic, you are encrusted very good inspirations in nature, many thanks for this beautiful gift to begin the week
I wish you an excellent day
A pleasure to share this work with you!

are you also a painter?
No I'm not
But my sister paints @kenhudoy
good one..is she on steemit? if not she needs to be in this wonderful community
No she's not but I told her to grab this opportunity and to present her talent throughout the world.
she's thinking right now ! Will show you her paintings @kenhudoy
ok...no time to waste get her in today and let her introduce herself with some very good work and story line which will gain her some followers, build her followers to a certain good level and then start blogging...this way she adds more value to her posts and work...keep me posted once she sends her first blog for my support...remember, family first as such check out my blog post a week ago on family versus office (you will enjoy it if you really cherish family which i trust you do) and few others. Follow for more as i shall be updating my posts this week...took out time for work and also build contacts...
Yeah sure , and thank you for guiding me. It means a lot to me.
Love to you 💛
always welcome and do not forget to drop a comment on my posts...my regards to your sister
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!!
Yes @opheliafu
I love paintings and appreciate the art
It takes lot of patience and determination to complete one single painting ,
I've seen my sister painting and she takes more than 7-8 non-stops hours to complete one.
Yes it is very easy to lose sense of time when painting
that's me ! I lose my senses when she paints ! I used to hate her for that but now after joining steemit I've learned enough , I've learned the value of painting and art.
@opheliafu
oh well. I guess I have to up-vote. It's not I want to... just kidding.
We missed you for some days. I hope you had enough rest. :)
