Greek mythology painting | The Pythia
Hello again :)
Another illustration in my series of women and mythology done with Procreate.
This time I decided to draw the Pythia, also called the oracle of Delphi. She was a priestess and is often depicted as a woman sitting on a tripod, holding laurel. Fumes emerging from the ground helped the Pythia enter a trance and give prophecies to people seeking counsel.
I used dark tones and no gold in this one because I wanted to give the painting an ominous and mysterious feeling. I also added the columns behind her to represent the temple inside of which she was sitting.

Hope you like it and thank you for viewing! Don't hesitate to let me know what you think :)
It reminds more of roman art work in 134 B.C
