POEM: "We did not ask for this room or this music. But because we are here, let us dance."
If any of you have seen the TV adaption (on HULU) of Steven King's incredible book 11/22/63, you might have caught this gem.
In the emotionally charged final scene of the finale, an aged Sadie Hawkins reads this beautiful poem as she accepts the award for woman of the year.
It speaks to me on such a deep level and brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. I'm not sure if that's because of how beautiful the ending was, or because I suffer from a rare incurable chronic illness and haven't lived an easy life.
But this poem moves me in a way that I haven't experienced in a very long time.
