A couple of years back I painted my first larger scale thematic portrait.

I was lucky enough to paint almost the entire portrait with the help of a good friend of mine, Hetta, modeling like a true goddess!

In the end I lost count of how many sessions we did all together, but I would guess we did around 10 three hour sessions and then I painted on it for a little while after from some photos we took and from memory.

My painting with it's red dot from my exhibit a couple of yoears back. I was so happy and grateful that she was purchased by two people that truly fell in love with her.

The painting sort of developed quite organically as I was painting it. Initially she was supposed to be dancing in a room, but then I felt the Goddess vibe in her presence grow so stong that I decided to connect her with nature and added a bird on her finger. Birds are said to be the messengers of the Gods, plus I love birds, so why not! :)

With this painting I actually took quite a few progress shots, so I thought I would share them ;)
