Beautiful female portrait with graphite pencils

I painted a digital portrait a few days ago and for that one i used a lineart that i sketched in my sketchbook. That sketch was just there in an empty page and so i thought about finishing it. I feel like the traditional one looks better than the digital portrait.

Here is the portrait.

She is supposed to have blonde type of hair but how do you draw hair that is white on a white paper with black pencils? Weird, huh? I think people turns the whole page black to paint anything white or you could use white pen but would still have to turn the whole page black.
Or, there is another way, you shade the entire thing very dark and then draw the hair very lightly, and with some thin hb pencils, thats what i did.
It doesn't look as good as having a black background but i think it serves the purpose.
