Creative process for a Freeform Capelet I recently finished.
I am a fiber artist. I specialize in Freeform Crochet and spinning. I recently finished this capelet.
I will take you through the creation process. I spun most of the yarn on my Ashford Kiwi
I usually start with a shape I like and build it up from there.
On this one I started with the circle that you see in orange. When I start a piece I usually have no idea how it will turn out. I make ponchos, sweaters, capes, capelets, and it usually takes a while of working before I know what item I am going for.
At this point I am still unsure about what it wants to be. So I just keep working.
Here you can see it is starting to take a shape. I've decided to make it a capelet. So I put it on my dress form and start shaping it.
When I have it to the shape I want it's time to wash and block it.
Here it is all finished!
Thank you for taking the time to check it out!
Very pretty!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Jaw drop! You are so talented to be able to shape this into a capelet!! This is very inspiring work and I would love to be able to do freeform crochet. I feel like this would be the next level for me...when I’m ready lol! 😁
This is very beautiful and I love all of the spirals of colors and shapes! Job well done! I love the process pictures!!!
@crosheille Thank you so much! You would be great at freeform. All you need is an imagination and a positive outlook, and it seems like you have both.
You are very welcome! Thank you for that I appreciate it! Once I get knitting down this will be my next challenge. Thank you again for the inspiration!
