NSFW- Artist Showcase: The Wonderfully Disturbing Art of E. Gladdening
With a name like Gladdening, you'd think happy thoughts would be second nature. Although, he's mild mannered and definitely not a threatening kind of guy until you cross him, Eric definitely has a uniquely dark artistic vision.
The artwork showcased here are all unpublished works that are considered by the artist as "unfinished", and are a sampling of the sketch-work that he builds his masterpieces upon. Eric is a personal friend of mine and said these works were not worth posting. I've challenged him to let me show him that there is a market for this kind of art. Raw and unfinished, and wanting to see a finished piece based of his proof of concepts found in these sketches. The goal here is to show him there is an interested fan base, enough for him to want to post his works in progress.
Although, traditionally talented, he works mostly in digital draw/paint mediums. Mostly relying on Corel Painter, some of the following were achieved using Autodesk and Photoshop.
With that, enjoy the darkness with him, won't you?
Leave a comment, critique, suggestion or just upvote the hell out of this so he can see what the people want from him.
Thanks,

speaking as a concerned friend here.
PLEASE put on some splash art/ Logo / label on these images or else someone will steal them and claim it as their own work.
I think your friend has a great personal style and he can definitely find a market with this type of style and artwork.
Im cheering for him.
That's a very good Idea. We have put some metacode in the images themselves to prove ownership, but that won't stop someone from pulling and claiming as their own. Thanks for the tip!
I've seen a lot of articles and posts about artist's work being stolen and used/sold. There was a facebook page that was just selling stolen art printed posters or on T-shirts. A lot of people reported it and it still didnt get taken down for a few more months.
On the other hand with his art style i think there's several industries that could definitely be somewhere he can go to
I think he can probably start posting more of his art at more places to get some attention and maybe start up a patreon account.
This is what I've told him as well, he agrees and is getting some portfolio work together, but I'm telling him all of his art has a market as his skill level is obviously very high and has a unique look and feel.
Did you draw this? even if not you have a 100% upvote from me :)
nevermind I read the post :D, still nice artwork :)
No worries, lol. It's my friend who thinks no one would want to see this type of work. I'm proving him wrong. With his permission of course.
In my opinion, you should remove the NSFW tag and from the title as well. I believe that this is art. As far as nudity goes it is not different than this
I agree with you, but we both know there are people looking at Steemit at work. some places could fire someone for something as trivial as a breast showing in some artwork up on their monitor. I feel it stupid and it's my experience that this is really only a worry to those in the U.S.A.
I'm merely offering that warning in case they are indeed at work. Hence the acronym "Not Safe For Work". I do appreciate that you see this as art and not some oddity or fetish work as some may view it. Thanks for the comment!
Well, maybe he/she should leave that job and search for a better one if the system is so idiotic.
If only the world weren't so prudish, that could be an option. It's pretty much policy at any company that I've ever heard of to require associates to A. sign a disclaimer saying you will not use computer equipment for personal use and B. take a sexual harassment course during their first 90 days, part of which covers office etiquette in regards to any sort of imagery that could offend and be taken out of context in a sexual nature. Being a male especially this is dangerous in a workplace in The U.S.A.
Change country :)
