Portrait Study

in #art5 years ago (edited)

Depicted below is one of my first few studies on portrait painting where I realized how impatient I can be. Why make art when you're rushing the process? You can't! Unless you're fine with a crappy outcome. And honestly, to my eyes, this study isn't all that great when demonstrating how much I've learned with oil painting. Her nose is crooked, her skin tone isn't as vibrant and dimensional as I want it to be ,fja djfkla blah blah a few things I wish I took the time working on.

Diggin' the background tho. Totes unintentional, but that's how I always paint my backgrounds lol.

Portrait Study No. 4 - oil on paper

ALSO... can someone explain how this post has less upvotes (currently) but more $$ than my last post. My latest post was one of my fav paintings and yet ? ?? ? I'm confused with how votes and post timing and ugh stats make worry for no reason lol

that's because you got voted by a whale with alot of Steem Power. More votes doesn't necessarily equal higher reward. It is how much a vote weights that matters.
