Hey Steemians! Today I'm going to share my work process! I'm going to use one artwork commission I did, Kamila.

Reference

First, I ask for some existing reference of the character I'm about to draw. Luckily, the owner already have a couple of them.

Sketching

After determining the pose and choosing what outfit she'd wear, I begin sketching. I do this digitally, using a Wacom Bamboo Fun Graphic Tablet (which is now phased out) in Manga Studio 4 EX (MS4EX).

Inking & Applying Flats

Now this step is not used by a lot of artist. Those who are already well experienced skip this step to save time. Myself, however, is not a well experienced artist. I still ink my sketch to make my lines more crisp & clean looking. Flats, so that I can edit a certain part without making changes on other parts that needs no editing. I do my Inks in MS4EX and my flats in Photoshop CS3 (PSCS3).

Painting & Effects

This part is the fun part. But also the longest part. Sometimes halfway through, you'll think of a better way of how the lighting looks more cool if you put it somewhere else, then you scrap all of what you have rendered and start at the beginning. The result is always worth it though. I paint my artworks in Easy Paint Tool SAI (SAI) and add the effects in PSCS3.

Final Product

Here's the finished piece. If I remember correctly, it took 5 days from start to finish.

I hope you found this art process useful. I'll try to post a more detailed tutorial next time. ^-^

Damn cool picture !!!!!! I had no idea how people could come up with such great rendering =D Now I know, thank you ! (But sorry .... But the arm behind the vines is...troubling me....it is not...here....sorryyyy)

Definitely follow and resteem, I'm so happy to find fellow digital artists here and it seems groowing ! Cheers !

You´re right @alcy! Sharp eye!
I didn´t recognize the missing arm until I read your comment ;)

Thanks a lot! ^-^
Yeah, that did bother a lot of people. I should not have placed a vine tangent to the hand. :)

Oh yeah now you say it you're right ! (Sorry about that haha) Are you on the Art Discord btw?

I don't know how to use Discord. ^-^; Should I consider it?

It is pretty easy to use and multiplatform, also a great way to connect with people using instant messaging (and no spamming the comment area imo ^^) You can access the minnow support here : https://discord.gg/ZSBZnd

cool work mate! upvoted and resteemed ^^

Thanks a bunch @beekart! ^-^
I was planning to do that minowbooster that you were doing, but I can't seem to figure out how it works.

Don't know what you mean? minnowbooster? You can send a small amount of sbd to them and then they upvote and resteem you, gives you a chance of a bigger audience :)

Just like that? I must have read a different tutorial. This new platform is just too much to take in in a short period of time. Thanks again beek!

Wonderful artwork @lires! :)

Thanks @w0olf! : )

Really beautiful work @lires, thank you for sharing your process, very insightful! I see the hand in the back basically turning into a vine just like the land in the foreground... i guess its not as clearly presented, but i can totally see it :) Great stuff, following for more.

Thanks a bunch @ankapolo! I need to take that into consideration for future artworks. ^-^
followed in return!

I normally don't care for textures but you pulled it off superbly. Also, welcome to steemit, fellow artist.

Thank you @ladygray! I loved textures right after I started using them. ^-^
