Artist Beth Cavener creates large sculptures depicting animals that seem torn from captivity. The works show the suffering of living beings, who are trying to make the home, and under the surface of this idea is an attempt to look into their own, human, psychology. Creating his clay sculptures, the Cavener gives them vivid emotions and shows that under our kind appearance lie primitive animal instincts.

"Both humans and animals, communicating with each other, use complex, subconscious gestures that speak about their intentions and motives," the artist said. - What escapes our attention is sometimes more important than the words spoken loudly. I learned to find meaning in more subtle signs: in the look, the tilt of the head, in the manner of holding hands, in the slightest unconscious gestures. I rely on his work on the body language of animals as a metaphor for these underlying patterns of behavior, transforming the images of animals in human psychological portraits."

Exhibition Director Jason Jacques said that he fell in love with the sculpture Beth as soon as they saw that they create the impression of painted, not fashioned from clay.

Bat Cavener solo exhibition "The other" will open on November 15 at Jason Jacques gallery in New York and will be held until December 5, 2017.
