Artistic MESS ...And what these patches of dried ketchup on the wall..mean? ;)

YEEA, that what you see is my desk ;p
The whole apartment can be cleaned up and prepared for the president's reception but my little garden most of the time looks like this;)

I once put a picture of my mess on one of the artists group on FB and suggested other artists to share their mess in the comments. To my surprise, the subject was of great interest to the artists.
I remember my golden thought that spread the whole topic:
...The artist should not be ashamed of his mess. His artistic mess shows how much the artist is dedicated to his art and to the inner world that forgets the outside world.

...and the random variety of shapes between the eye and the monitor can stimulate imagination to a new idea.

But as my grandmother used to say: What is too much, even the pig will not eat

if you escape too much from reality and the mess begins to affect the creator of mess and other people is a sign that it is better to clean up.

Hehe..I love to have my desk clean when I work though..since I work on music most of the times. But hey..to each it's own. I remember times having a messy desk too...I guess I changed my ways of being inspired or distracted, as you mentioned above. (;
